Zoom - Setting Up Zoom Registration to Take Attendance in Virtual Meetings

This article will show you how to use the registration feature in Zoom to automatically take attendance in live lecture meetings.
Note: This is a setting that must be turned on prior to the meeting running and is best for meetings with many attendees.

The article assumes you have a Zoom Account.
This article consists of two parts. First, requiring registration while creating a Zoom Meeting and second, requiring registration in a meeting you have already created but not yet ran.

Requiring Registration (Attendance) while creating a Zoom Meeting

  1. Log into Zoom website (not the desktop App).



  2. Click "Meetings" in the left menu.

  3. Click "Schedule a New Meeting".



  4. Scroll to fill in the Time/Date/Duration/Time Zone Information.

  5. Click the check box for “Registration” and choose “Required”.

  6. Click "Save".

Requiring Registration (Attendance) when a Meeting has already been created

  1. Log into Zoom website (not the desktop App).



  2. Click Meetings in the left menu.

  3. Select the meeting from the list of Upcoming Meetings.



  4. Scroll to the bottom and choose “Edit this Meeting”.



  5. Scroll and click the check box for “Registration” and choose “Required”.

  6. Click "Save".
