Accessing Schoology Notifications and Messages (Students)
Notifications and messages in Schoology can be checked by clicking the Envelope Icon (messages) or Bell Icon (notifications) in the top blue menu bar. These buttons are always present in the menu bar regardless of which course you are currently viewing.
Schoology Messages
The number of unread messages currently in your inbox is displayed next to the envelope icon. After clicking the envelope icon, a drop-down menu with a list of messages in your inbox will appear. Clicking the first message takes you to your inbox.
Note: Depending on your message settings, you may also receive an email to your SWTC email address when you receive a Schoology message. Viewing and replying to a Schoology message via your email does not count as “viewing” it in Schoology.
Schoology Notifications
Notifications in Schoology are intended to notify you of new activity in courses (i.e., instructors posting updates, peers responding to discussion posts, feedback or grades being posted, etc.). Click the bell icon to review new notifications. Clicking the links in the notifications drop-down menu will take you to the item the notification relates to.
