HP USB-C Dock Setup Guide

This guide outlines the setup and functionality of the USB-C HP dock provided to staff and faculty.

HP USB-C Dock G5

This dock model replaces the previous mechanical docks and connects to laptops via USB-C. 

The HP USB-C Dock requires a power supply, which connects via a port on the bottom of the dock. The power plug can be inserted as shown in the image below.

The dock has many of the same I/O connections that the previous mechanical docks have. 

Two additional USB type A ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack are on the right hand side. The front of the dock has a USB-C port as well.

Connect the laptop to the dock via the attached USB-C cable. The USB-C port is located on the right side of the laptop, near the screen hinge. 

Note: USB-C is a reversible connection and will function when connected in either orientation.

Power on the laptop by pressing the button on the top of the dock. The light on the button will illuminate when powered on.
