Lockdown Browser
Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor works with Schoology exams as a separate browser to do two things. First is to lock the student into the browser for testing. It will not allow them to open another tab, browser, email, etc. to search for a test answer. Secondly, it uses the student’s webcam to record them during the test. It will flag any parts of the video that seem suspicious for the instructor to review after. Setup information for instructors and students can be found here: https://web.respondus.com/he/monitor/resources/.
Please reach out with any questions. IAL staff are happy to help you get this setup.
Respondus is currently offering daily training webinars as well. The webinar schedule can be found here: http://respondus.com/webinars
Random Questions in Test/Quiz
In the Settings Tab of any Test/Quiz in Schoology allows us to randomize the order in which the questions appear to each student as well as in each question we can randomize the order of responses.
Turnitin
Is a tool that checks for originality of submitted assignments, encouraging students to submit their own work and deter anyone from copying. It is integrated with Schoology and we can show instructors how to include this in their courses (Add Materials -> File/Link/External Tool -> External Tool -> Turnitin)
