Email - Turning Off Focused Inbox View (Staff/Faculty)

This document outlines how to disable the Focused Inbox view and reset to standard view.
In Outlook, Focused Inbox is a feature that uses machine learning to control the overflow of emails by analyzing incoming messages and placing the most important emails in the "Focused" tab, while the rest go to the "Other" tab.

Disabling Focused Inbox

From the Outlook desktop client

1. Navigate to the "View" tab on the menu ribbon.
2. Click the "Show Focused Inbox" button to disable the view.

After completing the steps, the changes will revert to the original settings, and you'll once again be able to switch between the "All" and "Unread" tabs from the Inbox section.

From Outlook Web Access

1. Open Outlook Web Access.
2. Sign-in with your Office 365 Account.
3. Click the Settings (gear) button in the top-right corner.
4. Turn off the Focused Inbox toggle switch.

Once you complete these steps, Focused Inbox will be disabled, and all your messages will appear without any smart sorting

From the Outlook Mobile App

1. Press your initial to the left of Inbox at the top of the app to bring up the settings menu.

2. Click the gear icon in the bottom left of the screen.

3. Slide the Focused Inbox toggle to the left to disable the feature.

Once you complete these steps, Focused Inbox will be disabled, and all your messages will appear without any smart sorting
