Schoology: Program Outcome Data in Schoology (POM Report)

This article shows you how to access the Mastery tool inside of Schoology to review program outcome data in the event that your program outcome mastery (POM) report is not available on the HUB.

This article assumes that you know which Schoology courses have been identified in your program outcome matrix in WIDS, that the appropriate Schoology mastery bridges have been built, and that data is actively being collected.

  1. Click Courses, then My Courses to access the appropriate course.
    • NOTE: If the course's grading period has ended, use the Archive button to access the course.

  2. In the course containing mastery data, click the Mastery link in the left-hand menu.

  3. If mastery bridges have been created for this course, data will be displayed on this screen.

If nothing is present or scores are not displayed, some or all of the following may need to be adjusted:

    • Edit the assignment(s) Category or Period.
    • Publish the assignment.
    • Make sure the assignment with mastery bridges is still present in the class.

Mastery Settings can also be adjusted to better understand the data. To access mastery settings, click the gear wheel icon on the Mastery screen, then select Mastery Settings from the drop-down menu.

The following mastery settings can be adjusted.

    • % to Meet Expectations: This defines the minimum percentage score a student must achieve on an assignment or assessment to be considered as having "met" a specific learning standard.
    • % to Exceeds Expectations: This defines the minimum percentage score a student must earn on an assignment/assessment to be considered as performing above standard.
    • Mastery Scale: This determines the grading scale used to determine mastery. Numeric is the recommended setting for this option.
