Activating your Cengage Course Materials (Cengage Only)
This article shows you how to activate your Cengage E-book inside of Schoology. As a note this is only for E-books that students purchase a code from the Southwest Tech bookstore and the instructor has added it to the Schoology course.
*This article is for activating your textbook only. Depending on your instructor, you may have different ways to access your textbook in your class. Some common places include at the top of the Course Work folder (example: Cengage Materials, seen below) or in each lecture folder throughout the course. If you are unsure, please ask your Instructor.
- Click the Cengage Materials link in the Course Work folder.
- Fill in the fields to create your Cengage account, or click the Sign In link if you have already created a Cengage account.
- Click the Access My Course button in the lower right corner of the Cengage Unlimited screen.
- Click the Subscribe Now button on the right-hand side of the Cengage Materials screen.
- Click the Register another course or product link at the right-hand side of the Cengage Materials screen.
- On the Add A Course or Register a Product pop-up, enter the code you purchased from the bookstore, then click Register.
- Note: If you have multiple classes that use Cengage materials in a semester, only enter the code of the book that corresponds to this course. Repeat the process outlined in this article in each course that uses Cengage materials.

- You will receive a message confirming you have successfully registered your product. Click the X in the upper right corner of this message to access your materials.
