Academic Integrity
Lockdown Browser
Respondus LockDown Browser opens Schoology exams in a separate browser to prevent students from opening additional tabs, browser windows, email, etc. This prevents students from searching for test answers while taking a test.
Respondus Monitor
Respondus Monitor works with Respondus LockDown Browser to access a student’s webcam to record them during the test. Respondus Monitor flags any parts of the video that seem suspicious for the instructor to review. Review the Respondus Monitor website to get started.
Respondus is currently offering daily training webinars as well. Review the webinar schedule to learn more.
Random Questions in Test/Quiz
The Settings tab of any test or quiz in Schoology allows users to randomize the order in which questions appear to each student. The order or choices available in multiple choice questions can also be randomized.
Turnitin
Turnitin checks for originality of submitted assignments, encouraging students to submit their own work and deter anyone from copying. Turnitin integratres with Schoology and can be added by selecting Add Materials > File/Link/External Tool > External Tool > Turnitin.
